Moon Crystals - A New Stitch Along Exclusively For The Snarky & Modern Facebook Group

I'm so excited to announce a new stitch along just for the members of the Snarky & Modern Embroidery and Cross Stitch Facebook group!

This SAL has been in the works for over a year as a collaboration between me and Nichole Young, the creator of the Snarky & Modern Embroidery and Cross Stitch Facebook group. She's also the talented owner of Afterglow Workshop, and the artist responsible for creating the beautiful hand-dyed variegated threads we'll be using for this hoop. What a treat it is to stitch with Nichole's threads!

If you've joined me for previous Lolli and Grace stitch alongs, you'll need to read all of the info below, because this one is a bit different.

Join The Group To Get The Pattern And Instructions

The stitch-along will be running from July 27 to August 24 right inside the Snarky & Modern Embroidery Facebook group.

This SAL is totally free for members of the group! All are welcome to join. If you don’t have Facebook, the pattern will be available for purchase after the SAL has ended.

To join the group, click on the link below:

Inside the group will be:

  • Pattern PDFs
  • Instruction PDFs
  • Links to YouTube video tutorials
  • Link to purchase optional supply kits
  • An awesome and supportive community who will cheer you throughout!

You've Only Done Cross Stitch Before? That's OK!

I designed this SAL so that even if you've never done hand embroidery before, you'll be able to create this design easy peasy. And if you're a more experienced embroiderer, there are some fun stitches that might be new for you. Here's what the stitch along will include:

-Written instructions, step-by-step photos, color charts, and full video tutorials for each part

-How cross stitch differs from hand embroidery

-Supplies used for embroidery

-Types of fabric used for embroidery

-How to transfer your design onto the fabric - you won't need to do this if you purchase a kit (see below) but it's still an important skill to know

-Eight easy embroidery stitches including a fun and fuzzy textural stitch

-Working with sequins and beads for a bit of sparkle

It's Free!

That's right - all of the instructions and pattern are free for members of the group. There will be a supply list posted in the very near future if you want to use or buy your own supplies.

Supply Kits Are Awesome

However, if you would like to purchase a complete supply kit that has all of the supplies you'll need for this design (including that gorgeous dyed thread), PRE ORDERS are now open.

NOTE: Please join the Snarky & Modern Facebook Group BEFORE you purchase a kit. That way you can be sure that the vibe in the group is a good fit for you before you invest in a kit. There is no fee to join the group.

Kits will be available here in the Lolli and Grace shop, but these always sell out fast, so if you're wanting a kit, I wouldn't wait too long. Nichole and I want to do everything we can to make sure everyone who wants a kit gets one, but pesky shipping issues make that a bit harder these days. Click on the link below to pre order a kit:

Pre Orders for the Moon Crystals Complete Supply Kit

Here's what the supply kit includes:
-Pre-printed fabric (I guarantee this is the best part of buying a kit - you don't have to transfer the pattern because it's already done for you!)

-8" high-quality beech wood hoop with heavy brass hardware that keeps your fabric TIGHT

-Nichole's hand-dyed variegated thread and DMC thread

-Needle

-Sequins and beads

-Felt for hoop backing

  • I am so excited…this is beautiful. All your stitches are beautiful… I want to do them all. The “Jingle” one was fabulous. I started behind and fell behind on the current one, might need to buy it later… but there are so many I want to make.
